Current Research

Clinical trials of:

• rotigotine dopamine agonist patch in Parkinson’s disease (PD)
• synthetic human growth hormone in multiple system atrophy (MSA)
• riluzole in MSA and progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP).
• National PD-SURG trials in PD
• London/Lund/Marburg programme of fetal nigral mesencephalic grafting in PD.
• Development of MSA rating scale and therapeutic trial assessment protocols, and of Quality of Life scales for MSA and PSP.

Clinical research projects on:
• repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in movement disorders
• the syndrome of fixed dystonia
• DYT1 gene carriers with and without dystonia.
